All American Food

Clifton/Morenci, Az is a small town but with a lot of people that either live locally or work here. With such a big population their is only a certain variety of places to go out to eat. No fast food places the closest one is 45 minutes away. So it’s made up of locally owned restaurants that serve the community.

The downfall to this is people get use to what is already here. When new businesses open up people are reluctant to go their because it’s not apart of their normal or habit. Community members don’t realize but stick to what they know and don’t venture out of that. Word of mouth is a big factor in this area. One person has a bad experience at a restaurant or business, by tomorrow the entire town will know the story and the negative experience. Quickly giving that place a bad reputation!

Missing Out

Daley Diner is the newest restaurant to open up in our small community. They officially opened their doors in June of 2019 at the old company store in Clifton. Many community members still after 6 months have not ever stepped foot inside. Daley Diner brings a wide variety of food to the community that most grew up on. The owners understand the “miners life” so truly make it as convenient as possibly to accommodate them!

First let’s discuss parking. Plenty of parking for any type of vehicle. Trailers are not a problem. We all know all too well that when town gets busy parking can be extremely hard to find. That is not the issue here.

Walking inside gives that warm country feel. American flag designs, western decor gives it that hometown feeling. When you walk in you will immediately hear oldies, including my personal favorite Fleetwood Mac. I love country and most of the time have that playing in my car, but it’s always nice to hear that song that takes me back to my childhood days and riding around with my parents. When you walk in there is a ice cream parlor. The ice cream parlor include milk shakes, and freshly baked by Melanie. Having baked from scratch desserts is an all time favorite.

This place really is a family oriented environment. Owners husband and wife Travis and Cheryl along with the other owner Cheryl’s mom Melanie ensure that this is built on being a family establishment. They bring the community all American food that truly takes myself back to my childhood. Everything from tacos to burgers. One of the popular items is the build your own burger. Giving the customer the option to have it made exactly how they like it.

Bringing convenience to the workers at the mine

This is a way of life in our small community. Most people here work in some part of the copper mine. So, the workers hours are different and spaced out. From their general work day, to the classes the company will put their employees through. 

Daley Diner owners understand this and have done their best to adapt. Their phone number (928)215-9316 is able to receive text messages. They offer if needed the customers can text them with a to-go order and their name. Giving them the time it will be done and a text when it is ready for pick-up. That’s HUGE! When people are in classes they can’t always use their phone to call in an order quickly. Even only get a certain amount of time to go grab something to eat. The Diner brings that option. Just recently adding a delivery option for the Morenci/Clifton area. Will even deliver to the mine gates for a flat fee. Being the only second restaurant with that option.

Monday  through Friday starting at 4:30 AM to 8:00 AM they set up on the front porch and have Grab-and-Go breakfast burritos for $6. Along with coffee, freshly baked goodies, juices, soda, coffee and Bang the energy drinks. The size of these burritos is double the size of what people are use to.

The restaurant itself opens up at 5:30 AM to 8:00 PM Monday to Friday. With a new daily special everyday.

Grab-and-Go burgers are sold from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Monday through Friday on the front porch. Along with the burger comes a soda and choice of either chips or French fries!

Listening to rumors of places doesn’t not mean that is the truth of that business. No one will ever know unless they go their themselves.

Come down and see for yourself this “diamond in the rough” establishment. The owners even walk around greeting the customers and introducing themselves. The staff are locals that bring quality customer service to the customers and will hold conversations making you feel right at home. Family oriented and that is the best quality of all.

My challenge to the community is to go see it for yourself. I can Guarantee that no one will be disappointed!
